PlumbFast achieves major cost savings after thieves remove copper at Coolaroo factory
Herzog faced major expenses when its temporarily empty large steel manufacturing plant in Coolaroo was targetted by copper thieves. The site was stripped of all copper, including three-phase wiring, water supply pipes, gas supply pipes, fire service items and copper drains.
PlumbFast has assisted the business to refit the site – locating stolen service lines, and repairing and replacing all necessary pipework. Given the potential expense of full copper replacement, PlumbFast has been able to achieve huge cost savings for Herzog, through using different materials and running some services through different sections of the factory.
With cost savings a priority, PlumbFast also employed initiative in their approach to roof repairs. The company designed special flashings around some of the large package air conditioning units, to stop leaks and save the cost of removing the units for repair.
